Flixster on Facebook: Widget Review
Published by Rodney Rumford May 27th, 2007 in Facebook Review, Facebook Software, facebook widgets.Rating:

I would give this Flixster facebook widget a try if you are a movie fan. Easy to use, lots of interaction and lots of cool data to display. There is an interesting invite friends feature (smart viral component).
If you are passionate about movies and want to see everything from box office numbers to newly released DVD’s to people’s reviews it does it all. One really cool feature is the ability to search for a movie, director or actor from right within Facebook. Very cool! Overall this is a very thorough example of how programmers can make the outside service “feel” like it resides within facebook.

I’m afraid your review is now out of date, since Flixster seems to have now removed features from its Facebook app, essentially crippling it. See this fledgling group…

This applet was a great one (before the issues the above reviewer mentioned). Another thing it lacks is tighter integration with the Flixster website. If they are really interested in expanding their user base outside of Facebook, they need a way to allow Facebook only users to migrate their profiles from FB to Flixster.com.
