The new facebook widget from box.net is amazing. Box is a way to upload, display and share files with your friends (think storage box). You can upload and save almost any file type of file. You can share photos, music, video, documents, etc. We uploaded images, PDF, Power Point, Excel, MP3 and all the upload speed was blazingly fast.
It is a super intuitive facebook application widget and very easy to use. You can even create a box account right from within facebook and be up and running in about 2 minutes. I like the fact that you change file names right in facebook, delete files, sort by name, upload files, change display from list to icon view all from within the widget. All of our files that we uploaded through facebook also showed up right in our main box account, nice.
The only drawback is that it makes you download power point, PDF and excel files… it would be nice to be able to view them right in the player on the facebook profile page.
Another really cool feature is that your box account has an rss feed output that is right in the widget, how cool is that! Try this today and you will love it!

Hey, this looks pretty slick, and the price is right. I’m adding this to my Facebook this weekend!
I used box.net for over a year and found it excruciatingly slow and expensive if you want enough space to upload anything significant. I realized it was MUCH cheaper to buy an external hard drive. I don’t recommend it at all.
