facebook multimedia and mobile application kyte
Rating: ★★★★★ kyte is a multimedia application that can be used on facebook. You can easily create your own interactive TV channel featuring pictures, videos, music, polls, live chat and much more with kyte.tv.

Stay connected by creating a channel that you and your friends can update on your facebook profiles. With kyte mobile you instantly send pictures and videos. You can also chat live on your profile, from your mobile phone or anywhere else you place your channel. You can also see how many people are watching the channel at any given point, no matter where the channel is syndicated to.

This was really cool… I was chatting with Robert Scoble and the founders of kyte today through the application. This is really quite a compelling facebook multi media application and has huge potential. I was one of the first 100 to add it and I am quite impressed with the robust functionality and ease of use. As a channel owner you have moderation controls. The live chat feature is also accessible via mobile.

The features and flexibility that this program has is truly amazing. This is the most robust multimedia application yet available on facebook. It is easy to use, and quite addicting. The use cases for this facebook application are virtually unlimited. The best thing about this is that it allows people to collaborate and create content within a “channel”. It works great with mobile phones such as the Nokia N73 as well. They also have strategic partnerships for music so that you can use licensed music in your channel, this is amazing.

I was able to contribute to the Scoble Channel very easily, and the flex2 interface for creating shows within the channel is so very intuitive… get creative and have a blast with all the options here. ;)

Here is another reason why we love this application and company… They have raised $2.25 million in an initial round of financing in July 2006. The latest investors: Swisscom and Holtzbrinck Ventures were brought on in May. They also announced that Nokia invested in this round. Kyte also happens to be the ONLY mobile services company that Nokia has invested in. They also have a very experience board. Being well funded is critical to many of these new facebook applications, and they are positioned very well. The mobile component is very important and if they can capture this; then they have a winner on their hands.

As I was talking with Kyte CEO Daniel Graf today he showed me how you could take a picture or video with your mobile phone, simply email it to your account email at kyte and it would instantly show up in your facebook kyte channel. WOW! Also, TV station CBS channel 5 uses the service (though not on facebook yet) for viewers to email in video and photos for their kyte channel.

Exclusive: Coming soon will be the ability to see all of your facebook friends channels within facebook.

Sounds awesome- I really wish I had the kind of grasp on these apps that you do. And no way, you chatted with Scoble? Am I the only geek here that thinks that is cool?
