The facebook PuzzleBee application from the smart people at The Broth, is an application that drives me crazy. But in a very good way. This fully integrated application is just plain fun and addicting. You can easily create & share a photo puzzle from any image. Real life jigsaw fans will be pleased with the game mechanics. Puzzle pieces and completed sections can be rotated freely and intuitively. Cool!

You can see your puzzles, your friends puzzles, the best times on solved puzzles, and select from a gallery of many puzzles. This application times how long it takes you to complete a puzzle so there is definitely a competitive component. You can pause the timer by clicking on it. You can also see who did the puzzle fastest, as well as people’s comments about a specific puzzle. Your added puzzles show up in your Mini-feed. Your puzzles also show up in your profile if you want.

To create a puzzle you simply upload an image, type a description of the puzzle or scene, and then decide if it is a mystery puzzle and if you want the puzzle to be easy, medium or hard to solve. The mystery puzzle gives you no thumbnail image for help and it is a sure fire way to make puzzle fanatics go crazy. You can also leave comments on the puzzle, this is a very nice feature.

The only shortcoming of this application is that it does not auto-save my puzzle that I am working on. If i choose to navigate to somewhere else… it loses my progress. The developers of puzzlebee ensure me that an auto-save feature is in the works (UPDATE: 4 hours after this post it was fixed, nice), this will save your puzzle so that when you return, you can pick right up solving the puzzle where you left off. While speaking with The Broth’s CEO: Markus Weichselbaum today, he ensured me that there are some enhancements and other functionality coming to this app in the very near future.

This facebook puzzle application is very well designed and you will find it very entertaining and easy to use. I think you will be quite pleased.
