After following this blog for a while and reading things written elsewhere, it's occurred to me that Facebook basically said "hey web, come on in." And so the web is coming on in. There's a bunch of crap on the web, and now there's a bunch of crap on Facebook. Go figure. I’m not a Facebook user, but I’m a developer, so I’ve been curious to see how the whole developer platform thing ends up working out. We have high expectations for all the smart developers. Actually as time progresses we are less forgiving. This could also be the reason why many smart programmers end up with pathetic apps. Since they want to hit the crowd before the next guy, quality suffers. About two weeks ago you commented how this first wave of Facebook apps would be lightweight and not all that impressive, but that the second wave would be much better.
