Facebook Interviews: Altura Ventures 1 - Facebook VC
Published by Rodney Rumford August 28th, 2007 in Facebook, Facebook Applications, Facebook Interviews.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Lee Lorenzen from Altura Ventures while we were both at Facebook on Saturday. This is the first segment of a 2 part Interview. Lee is the CEO of the first Facebook VC Fund (Altura Ventures) that is purely focused on the facebook environment.
They have acquired facebook centric properties and facebook applications.
Lee is a smart guy with lot’s of history and success. Here are a couple of highlights of the first part of the interview:
* Facebook will go public in 18 months with an IPO and a valuation of 100 Billion. Yup thats Billion with a B.
* Why facebook could be worth that huge number
* 200 Million facebook users coming soon
* User engagement matters
* Facebook does a great job with privacy controls
* Why the social graph matters to users
Great content from Lee in Part 1. More good insights and specifics on what they are doing with Adonomics in Part 2.

Thanks so much for the info rich interview on facebook.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen on the subject
of what facebbok is all about and where it’s headed.
My thanks also to Lee Lorenzen for sharing his enthusiasm
for facebook. Your points about membership being centered
on the real You have really helped me understand facebook.
In fact just yesterday because I was being the real me, and
I was known by their friends as the real me, I was
able to add 30 new friends on facebook in 20 minutes.
Your right about the future of facebook. It’s going to be the
social networking operating system. A lot of people are going
to be surprised - especially if they watch the membership growth
rates.
Thanks again guys for a great interview - I will have to play it
a few times to take in all the content.
Success Belongs To You
