Published by Rodney Rumford August 30th, 2007 in Facebook, Facebook Applications, Facebook Interviews.
While at the facebook developers garage in Palo Alto I had a chance to catch up with RockYou CEO & Cofounder Lance Tokuda. This is the first interview in a 2 part segment. RockYou is a social network widget developer for many social networks; not just facebook.
They happen to have the largest user base portfolio of applications on the facebook platform (well over 12 million).
They own quite a few very popular & viral facebook applications such as X-Me, Slideshows, Superwall, Zombies and Horoscopes.
They have been funded by Sequoia Capital & Lightspeed Ventures. They also have widgets on popular social networking sites such as myspace, bebo, hi5, friendster and xanga.

Well done to the RockYou team. They’ve done well to capitalise on their position so quickly. Best of luck to them.
I completely agree with Ankur, can’t believe the number of users they’ve got. Don’t see how they got the rights to use the pokémon font in their logo but that’s just me being a bitter geek
