MSN Loves Facebook

You might not know that MSN (Microsoft) has an advertising contract with Facebook for a period of 3 years. MSN will advertise on facebook in a variety of ways.
What is important to note today is that you can share news items that you are reading on MSN on facebook. At the bottom of any news item that you are reading there is a share on facebook link. If you click on this link you can share items by posting them to your facebook Mini-Feed (which will show in your News-Feed as well). You can also share the item with a list of individual friends. The other nice feature is you can choose which image to share as well as the headline of the MSN News item.
The reason this is significant is that this is yet another example of how facebook awareness is spreading on major media and destination sites like MSN. Anytime you raise awareness, remove friction points and allow people to share content easily; more content shows up into facebook. This ads value to the facebook user experience. This is also easy for non technical types to share information (Key to facebook penetrating an older market demographic). Your friends can also comment on your posted news item. Nice!
I am not an MSN user, but a female friend of mine in her thirties who recently joined facebook, pointed this out to me while we were having lunch today. This is just another example of how facebook is spreading and becoming more useful to more and more people; specifically non technical types and your average everyday internet users.
Having these easy share points is really smart, it removes friction & increases data flow into facebook. Facebook members can share MSN information and content easily; they love this. This is win/win/win for facebook, MSN & Facebook users. PS. I apologize to all my friends for sending this MSN news item about Britney Spears.
