Facebook Now Has 50 Million Active Users
Published by Rodney Rumford October 29th, 2007 in Facebook, Facebook News.Breaking News: Facebook Now has 50 Million active users. No one has mentioned this major benchmark; so we thought we would spread the word. The fact that Facebook has hit this active user benchmark so rapidly is mind boggling. Facebook is seeing meteoric uptake in adding new users at a rate that exceeds 200,000 New Users Per Day! I would fully expect them to hit 80 Million users by the end of the year.
This sort of adoption momentum is far beyond the tipping point for Facebook. By and large these new users are coming to facebook via referrals (invites from friends). Granted facebook is getting huge media and press coverage; but nothing that would make these sorts of adoption numbers occur.
Facebook had 34.5 BILLION page views in the month of September, making them the 4th most trafficked website worldwide.

Source?
The source for 50 million active users is Facebook.
The source for 34.5 billion pageviews is Comscore.
Thanks for asking for the sources. I should have put that in here.

call me cynical, but I don’t see Facebook reaching 80M members, by the end of ‘07 (60 days away?!)
Come on Mark that is only 500,000 new users a day…
A bit of ambitious future telling on my end; but within reach for sure.
