Facebook is the 4th most trafficked website on the internet WORLDWIDE. 34.5 Billion Page Views last month! This puts it right up there with the almighty Google.

Microsoft and Facebook will find a way to develop a closer partnership that is more than just around serving Microsoft ad inventory. “Facebook will be coming up with new ad types” they stated on the conference call.

Think of this as investment by Microsoft in a worldwide distribution channel for all of their ad inventory at the very least. It could also quite possibly be a strong co-development partnership of ad serving and targeting technology at the other end of the spectrum.

Facebook is a media property and a communication platform and much much much more. This is but the tip of the iceberg my friends. Simply put: Most Advertisers, Brand managers, Businesses and other web properties all will want to participate on facebook on some level because that is where the people are at. Large companies are clamoring to find the best way to reach this audience through advertising dollars and budgeting for building facebook application projects to help achieve business goals by leveraging facebook users.

People need to stop the speculation and rumor mongering. Bottom line is Microsoft got a great distribution partner for worldwide ad serving for pocket change relatively speaking.
