Facebook eCards Application: Cool Greeting Cards. Review by Guest Blogger Kenneth Shaw. Disclaimer: Rodney is the application owner.
This past weekend, I had the chance to try out a couple different greeting card apps on Facebook. My Greeting Cards has cool flash animation cards but very few cards (25 to be exact). Birthday Greeting Cards pulls in data to see your friends’ upcoming birthdays and choose a card from one of their 1000 cards. However, it lacked quality cards. Greeting Cards has a nice selection which is organized like the Hallmark section in grocery stores. It even has a postcard section so you can send postcards from places you visit… but isn’t the point of postcard’s to show that you actually have been there? Anyways, my favorite Facebook greeting card app I found based on quantity and quality was Cool Greeting Cards.
These days I feel like most people go to the humor section at a greeting card store – no more generic, “Happy Birthday” messages
unless you’re willing to write a good message to go along with it. It comes down to some message or card cover that catches an inside joke, personality, or thought. Cool Greeting Cards is like this attractive humor section. It has a good selection of cards (currently 150+, but Rodney keeps increasing it everyday) and they each have a lot of spunk.
These are cards that capture the humor that you really can send for fun and share with friends. This may also have something to do with Rodney’s good sense of humor.
One of the cards, I randomly came across is a picture of this little kid and the quote, “Wait Till They See The Surprise I Left In The Pool… It Floats!” I personally got a kick out of just flipping through the cards. They even have facebook specific cards relating to Poking and life on facebook.
This app has a professional feel about it. And the cards are all in high resolution. You can even add audio & music to your cards – from a fart, a kiss, to a karate yell (over 25 Audio clips). There are currently no ads on this app. And the user interface is pretty easy to follow. You can also view all the cards you’ve received or sent – I just wish all my friends will adopt one greeting card app so I don’t have so many received and sent cards across so many apps. One more thing that I really like is that unlike any of the other greeting card apps, you can attach a Cool Greeting Card whenever you send a message or write on a friend’s wall.
There’s a coin system that’s a bit similar to My Greeting Cards where users get more coins each day. This could probably be improved in terms of getting more users by making it more of a game like Food Fight or Naughty Gifts. The more cards you send - the more coins you get and the more cards you unlock.
Overall, this is a pretty slick eCard app that you should be using. Keep up the great work Rodney and keep the “Cool” cards coming.
See Friends Upcoming Birthdays So You Never Forget. It also has categories of Cards: New, Birthday, Funny, Holiday, Friendship, Love, Party, Sexy.

Attach cards to a message or to a wall. Nice touch.

One of the many facebook specific cards. These are too funny!

Very Cool! Just in time for the holidays too. I can’t wait to get in there and start sending ecards.
