Rodney, I think you're absolutely right. The introduction of the Facebook Pages and Social Ads will introduce competition for advertising dollars with application developers, but it is precisely this healthy competition which will spur developers to start thinking outside the square. We will need to look at new ways in which to monetize our apps as well as change the way in which we create our apps. Brave new world indeed!

I am dead serious. This is a positive.

You not knowing how to best monetize your ads is an issue every app owner has to contend with. Facebook could help; true. But the bottom line is you need to look creatively at your app and see how you can monetize it beyond simple CPM methods.

Are you serious? This is completely negative for apps- it's an attack on the only way we had to monetize, application ads. Facebook needs to give us options to make money- not just spend it- or we will leave them very quickly.
