Breaking News: Facebook Drops “is” from Status. This might seem trivial. But thousands of facebook users have been asking for the word “is” to be dropped from the status updates on facebook for some time.
Facebook has just dropped this in the last few hours. Now users can write their status in more creative ways and not be limited by the word “is”…
Yet another example of facebook listening to users. I actually liked the word “is” being forced in status updates. It made people write more action oriented status updates. I am sure the members of the facebook group to get the word “is” dropped will be rejoicing when they awake in the morning.

Oh this really explain that then! I used to be playing around with this status thing for a long time. This morning I was surprised, why they added the “is” part to my status, so I had to add it myself.
It also made people write in passive voice which is a big no-no to all 500 English majors in the country
