Business Disrupters on Facebook: I think that the facebook platform has the ability for information to flow in ways that were never possible before. I also think that facebook and the social graph (combined with the right application) potentially facilitate disruption of proven business such as ebay, Expedia, tMicrosoft, Amazon, etc.

The ability to bring relevant information to the surface from my friends is a really interesting concept. The ways that we can share and interact are uniques in a socially connected platform such as facebook. The applications such as “Where I Have Been”, “Radical Buy”, and ZOHO are several examples of this on facebook.

Here are a few examples of facebook apps that are potential business disrupters:

* The travel industry sites has some competition from the Where I Have Been Application. I like the context of travel as it relates to my friends. This facebook application now also handles travel related needs. What started out as a simple application has evolved and could be a potential business disrupter.

* Document sharing applications are also showing up on facebook. This could evolve and challenge some traditional businesses.

* Microsoft has a challenger in the ZOHO application. There is a huge marketplace for web based document creation and management and Zoho hits that.

* eBay has some competition from the Radical Buy application. I like that I can see what my friends have for sale and I can make some bucks on the side by selling their stuff. The social concept of buying and selling used goods just went social. This app has an easy user interface and is fun to use. Bored at work? Go shopping.

I did a quick ScreenCam of the Radical Buy Facebook App.

Thanks for this Rodney. I haven’t been able to sleep all weekend thinking about how this could “disintermediate” ebay. I have an idea on how Mark Cuban, the founder of RadicalBuy, can make this go even more viral.

    Mark Cuban - call me!

    Cheers,
    Peter
