We have talking for a long time about how cool it would be (not to mention very practical) if there was a seamless way to handle secure transactions within facebook. Well facebook is now beta testing with selected application developers this ability.

Applications can actually handle transactions on facebook currently (paypal…etc.); but consumer confidence is not there and the work arounds from an application development standpoint are a pure nightmare.

Application developers must sign an NDA agreement to participate in the facebook beta testing. Once they have this perfected; you will see the wheels of commerce kick into overdrive on facebook and all the naysayers will be thinking… hmmmm there just might be something to this facebook thingy.

I look forward to the day that this information is public and we start seeing transactions seamlessly flowing like water on facebook. I could also envision a micro-payment type of system as this makes a great deal of sense in a social network. Micropayment systems work really well for digital/virtual goods. People will pay 50 cents for a status in an app or for any digital goods that you can imagine.

How cool would it be to buy books, clothes, music, anything…. from within the applications themselves? Very!

    Hey there -

In 10 days, Mpayy will launch with a fully syndicated, secure payments widget. Users must become members, but the app sits within US Bank’s data centers. Users will pay from their checking accounts after a quick identity verification process. Users will receive 100 free Person-to-Person transfers per month, and 1% Cash Back on all purchases over $50. Plus they can move money to someone else with their cell phones.

If this interests you, drop me a line. Feel free to check out http://mpayy.blogspot.com as well.

Introducing Spare Change, the first micro-payments solution designed for Facebook!

Spare Change is designed to help users and developers buy and sell goods and services online securely and easily.

You’ve all built some amazing applications, from games, to gifting, to social sharing. Now there is a new way to monetize these great applications. Why not have a user pay $0.50 for an extra special gift and message, pay a $3 monthly subscription for playing premium games, donate $1 to a cause, or pay $0.25 to see how one has as been rated by friends?

Spare Change allows you, the developer, to charge small amounts of money which was previously both uneconomical and too hard for users to use. We’ve built a 1-click interface which keeps users on your applications and allows them to purchase content with ease and confidence.

My team and I have over 15 years of building enterprise grade financial services applications and we think you’ll like the product we’ve built. It’s simple, reliable, and scalable. We’re committed to building the best payment solution for social networking.

Please take a look, experiment with your apps, let us know what you think - we’re at your service.

Spare Change - the way to pay for the little stuff.

An application on Facebook is now using a payment method known as Mobillcash. This allows you to pay for items/ buy points/ Donate all via your mobile phone. No credit or debit cards needed. I would suggest more applications take this on as a method of payment. Its easy and affective. I highly recomend it.
