Facebook 60 Minutes Interview

Facebook 60 Minutes Interviews Mark Zuckerberg: The old media standard 60 Minutes TV show is going to run a piece this sunday on facebook. I am excited to see the full piece as the target audience of 60 minute viewers is quite a bit older than the standard facebook users. Exposure to this demographic will be very important and hopefully positive for facebook.
Zuckerberg’s interview will be broadcast on 60 Minutes this Sunday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. ET/PT
This is the first public interview Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has given since the Beacon fiasco. You can see a few short excerpts of the facebook piece before it airs this sunday on CBS here.
I am also excited to hear that Charlene Li from Forrester Research will be on the show as well. She is very smart and I am sure she will have some good insights into facebook that viewers can get their heads around easily. She also has her thoughts on the 60 Minutes experience on her blog. My TIVO is set Charlene.
Lesley Stahl asks Zuckerberg “Will facebook go public in 2008?”
Answer: “what I can announce is that it is highly unlikely that we will go public in 2008 and when going public makes sense to do, we’ll do that.” … Highly Unlikely are the 2 key words here.
This should be fascinating to watch. I hope that they get it right. It will be interesting to see how they talk about technology and implications of facebook technology on privacy, change, communication and innovation. A few Pics from the show.
