We’ve reviewed plenty of applications that don’t add any depth to Facebook’s functionality. Many of them exist for the sole purpose of propagating on more accounts to generate more ad revenue. They’re useless wastes of the potential and capabilities of Facebook.
Facebook recently introduced a new version of its Friend Finder application that should be a model to all application developers. This simple app that does exactly what its name suggests, it expands on Facebook’s ability to add friends from Gmail, and other popular email services, with far more service options.Users can also add friends from AIM or directly from an address book.
The combination and simplicity of these things make Friend Finder a valid addition to platform. I tried a a variety of friend sources on the app and all worked quickly to find my contacts effectively.
There is no flashiness here, there aren’t even really aesthetics at all. It simply expands on a utility already offered by Facebook to enable users to better do the thing that sits at the core of the service, that is, helping people connect with one another.

The friend finder is a neat feature, but hardly unique to Facebook. Most social networks have some version of that exact same tool. It’s only good business.
Also, you have to be careful with that app. If you import too many friends at once, it’s possible to get sandboxed.
