Social Media marketing group MixerCast has announced that it has closed a $6 million round of VC with investments from Intel Capital, ONSET Ventures and Velocity Interactive Group. The funding comes at an important moment for MixerCast as it prepares to launch its MCast Suite, an Online marketing and advertising tools that allows publishers to market their brands through multiple mediums.
MCast’s capabilities include video, music, rich text and, most relevantly, interactive advertisements that can utilize third party apps like those found on Facebook Platform. The suite places all of this content into one embeddable application making it easy for companies to deploy media initiatives across the Internet. It also includes tracking and management functions so companies can judge just how useful their MCast apps are to their businesses.
UPDATE by Rumford: They are using Gigya to get the widget into facebook it appears. I also found out that they are using Rock You to distribute their widgets into facebook. It seems a little buggy to me at this time as i can’t add the widget to my profile as it claims.
Here is a sample widget we quickly created with MixerCast: It contains several videos.
