Current News flows on to Facebook

Current TV, the user-generated independent media channel led by Al Gore, has launched a Current News application for Facebook. The app pipes a stream of news features from Current users into Facebook.
A quick glance at the stories on Current News is roughly akin to looking at Digg, but it distinguishes itself by offering stories from a wider array of sources. One other neat feature is that as your friends add the app, you collectively edit the stories that show up in each others’ feeds. That’s something new that hasn’t yet appeared with other social aggregators.
All in all, this is an extremely wise move for the young Current TV. It being a user-generated organism, tapping into one of the largest users bases can only yield more product for its Website and, potentially, its TV channel.
