Undoubtedly a great feedback mechanism for future app builders. Should also bring some added traffic to the application as reviews and activity on the page will make for more mini-feed content.

I concur. The issue of pages built for fan gathering and now this change is a bit frustrating.

Facebook will help transfer "Fans" in a one off mode if you are the developer.

Here is what facebook says:

A few developers have created Pages for their applications so that they can use the additional functionality provided by Pages. If you did this, you can transfer the fans and reviews from your existing Page to the new application About Page. Please send us an email at app-about-page@publists.facebook.com with your application ID or application key, Page ID and the developer’s user ID. The developer requesting the migration should be an admin of the original Page. If you choose to migrate your existing Page we will delete it after the migration completes.

ugggghhhh. But at least it lets you move the fans to your app page.

Great - I spent the time to build a "page" when they first launch, gained 250 fans and now that is rendered somewhat worthless with app pages.

Facebook's constant "innovation" is getting annoying.
