One of the challenges with facebook applications is looking at analytics and performance stats. Facebook has always been weak in this area and most facebook application owners use a more sophisticated 3rd party stats provider like Sometrics or something simple like Google analytics for tracking.
Facebook has just implemented (an hour ago) a new stats package that allows application owners to look at 2 weeks worth of application engagement historical data in chart form. This is important to see where usage is moving and to see if there are any trends emerging. This is a definite improvement and a step in the right direction for facebook analytics for applications.
They still have a long way to go… but the analytics evolution is moving forward and that is a step in the right direction.
14 day historical facebook application stats analytics in 7 day slices. Nice for visual week to week stat comparisons.
