facebook-platform-logo.pngOn Friday, Facebook made yet another progressive (and unexpected) move, with the release of of a Javascript-based client library that allows developers to host applications on their own servers. The impact of this could be immense.

Now, rather than being confined to coding within Facebook, developers can build and host apps natively. The update allows them to bridge Facebook with their existing servers, making a truer utilization of the Facebook community possible.

It’s an interesting move in that it makes the Facebook community a more portable, and valuable, commodity.
