This simple concept makes probably the most useful Facebook app I’ve yet encountered. BigSight.org has created here a well-executed application that culls Facebook friend data into an easily portable CSV list. The power of FriendCSV is twofold.
From a user perspective, it provides a distinct and compelling utility: contact portability. It’s quick, it’s painless, it’s useful for anyone who has friends and uses email (pretty much everyone on Facebook). From a developer perspective, beyond being simple, it actually contributes to the core service of BigSight.

I’d never used BigSight prior to FriendCSV, but with all of my contacts ported into the service, I felt compelled to complete my account. It doesn’t do it by requiring users to invite friends, it does it by routing contacts into BigSight’s people directory.
