Facebook overhauls account deletion

After being hit last week by a bunch of flak regarding account deletion, Facebook announced today that it had take steps toward streamlining the process and rectifying the main concerns. User began complaining that complete account deletion was virtually impossible.
The reason is that Facebook users generate content while they utilize the service. When an account is deleted, only the content contained on the profile is completely removed. Content that was created outside the profile, like on other users’ profiles, groups, applications, etc. remains.
While Facebook hasn’t opted to erase this data, it has instituted measures that will prevent other Facebookers from tracking the information back to a deleted account. Namely, all personal data (name, email, networks, etc.) are completely eradicated fro the server, making any persistent data irrelevant.
