Facebook Help 101

facebook-small.jpg Facebook Help 101: As our readership continues to grow and millions of people are coming onto facebook every month; we thought it would be helpful to show people where they can help themselves on facebook.

This might sound really odd; but I was talking with some very savvy computer people the other day in their 20’s & 30’s and they were talking about how they found facebook overwhelming and confusing on many levels. The navigation is not always clear to newer users.

I understand where they are coming from because facebook has so much functionality that it has many layers. So peeling back the onion to expose more of what is under the hood of this amazing communication platform would make sense and be helpful. Facebook has so much functionality that there are almost 100 pages of help content.

Just go here for facebook help.
The help link is the very bottom right corner of every facebook page.

You know what’s funny (or maybe sad?) is that I get a ton of people at Facebook-Developer.net sending me emails via my contact form thinking that I’m Facebook. They find my site by Googling “contact facebook”, end up at my site even though it’s several pages back in the SERP’s, and contact me.

I used to be nice and send people responses saying I’m not Facebook, directing them to the URL they need to be at. Then the number of emails like that gradually increased, and it became a one-liner saying that my site is not Facebook. Finally, I started get far too many, that I just began deleting them without responding.

So yeah, to sum up this long rant, just use the help button people! ;)
