Social Networks Still Growing: According to web analytics company Compete; It would appear that social networks continued to grow steadily for the past year. This would indicate that the marketplace still has substantial growth legs. It is also worthy to note that there are new social networks such as twitter that experienced serious growth percentages in the past year.

Some of the new social networks fill very specific niches for connecting people (cafemom.com). The interesting note to take away is that the market is far far from saturation & that there is still room for the social network industry on the whole to continue to grow.

As I have said before; social networks fundamentally change the way we communicate, micro-touch, and consume information from a network of connected friends. This is evidenced by the continually growing numbers across the Social Network Sector.

Facebook has 326 Million visits per month: 77% growth year to year (feb)
Myspace has 955 Million visits per month: 1% growth year to year (feb) would indicate that Myspace has hit a plateau.
Linkedin has tripled it’s monthly visits to over 11 Million

Social networks growth continues
