Zynga Interview with CEO
Published by Rodney Rumford March 11th, 2008 in Facebook, Facebook Applications, social games.
Social Games Network Zynga CEO Mark Pincus sat down and did a interview with me at Graphing Social Conference. Casual games are a high growth opportunity. This is a really fascinating space that is growing like a weed. This is creating a big opportunity and a new category of apps and social games.
We published a post about the launch of casual gaming company Zynga a few weeks back.
Mark talks about:
The future of casual gaming/ social gaming
API that Zynga has launched
The Zynga toolbar
Training user behavior for the network effect
Creating a platform
Similar to a link exchange in some way: SEO & SEM 1:1 trade minimum
Gamemail
Going across multiple social networks: facebook, friendster, hi5 orkut, myspace, bebo, etc.

We fixed that. sorry about the delay.
Rodney,
thanks for the interview post. I just checked Jeremiah’s blog and found that you lead me here. I finally knows who and what behind this. Love your works.
cheers.
Zynga have the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. They have dropped the ball on their BEST app ever, My Heroes Ability, and will not reply to emails asking for the app to be maintained and updated. Today the app is unplayable and I will not be using any Zynga products in the future.
Not only does Zynga NOT support social gaming, they continuously blame Facebook for their problems. Once Facebook accepts an application, ALL responsibility for maintaining said app, is clearly on the shoulders of the app developers. Only Zynga applications have errors that state “Facebook is having problems.” or “The developers are working with Facebook to iron out the kinks.”
