5 Facebook April Fools Jokes

April Fools Jokes: I guess the trend online this year appears to be that every “news outlet” and blog are getting their kicks trying to pull off april fools jokes about facebook. I actually find most of these really lame. If you want the best fake journalism out there you really should read The Onion; (this is hysterical) they do it better than anyone, everyday.
If you are a marketing professional be careful, your April Fool Joke could be a hit or backfire
The scary part is some of these “news items” showed up in my Google News Alerts as actual news sources (not blog sources). We started seeing some of these joke arrive early before April 1 and were sharing them on twitter.
So if you want your annual April Fools jokes check these out. You might even forward them on to a dimmer co-worker and see if they bite.
InfoWorld: Google Buys Facebook for 25 Billion
Techcrunch Why We’re Suing Facebook For $25 Million In Statutory Damages
The Register: The Facebook Initiative – Bill Gates’s greatest invention
BreakingNews.com: Rich Genes, Facebook DNA Project
This one is only partially facebook related. I just happen to think this borders on irresponsible and could end up in a Lawsuit. (not all people read the second page or the page url). I can see some not too bright people buying stock after reading this. Microsoft, Yahoo agree on buyout price.
p.s. My April Fools Joke. Everyone on facebook thinks my birthday is April 1 and is writing on my facebook wall, sending me messages, greeting cards and sending me virtual gifts on facebook wishing me a happy birthday. It is actually April 14. Gotcha
