Facebook close to settling lawsuit with ConnectU
Published by Rodney Rumford April 7th, 2008 in Facebook, Facebook News.Facebook close to settling lawsuit with ConnectU: The legal woes between these 2 companies has been going on for quite some time. Sources close to the New York Times say that it would appear that facebook is close to reaching a settlement with ConnectU.
According to the NY Times “A person briefed on the status of dueling lawsuits between Facebook and the competing site ConnectU said on Sunday that Facebook was finalizing a settlement with the founders of ConnectU — brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and their colleague, Divya Narendra.”
It would appear that facebook & ConnectU will come to a settlement within a few weeks. The sooner the better.
It makes sense to just spend a few million; get this behind them and move forward. Having a legal cloud over your company is a huge distraction. Settling this lawsuit just might make good business sense depending on the dollar amount. Zuckerberg needs to focus like a laser beam and not have this legal issue distracting his attention.
So how much do you think they will settle for? My guess is somewhere in the 10 million dollar range. Leave your guess in the comments section.
