Free Gifts Facebook App Acquired by SGN

The wildly popular Free Gifts Application on Facebook was recently acquired by Social Gaming Network SGN. Free gifts was the brainchild of Zach Allia. I had a chance to chat briefly with Zach last year when the app was on fire and growing like a weed. Smart idea, well executed and well adopted by the facebook ecosystem.
Free Gifts challenged facebook’s own Gifts application (which cost 1 buck a piece to send) and it looks like it won.
The Free Gifts application has well over X million installs and over 145,000 daily users on facebook.
It ranks as the 38th most used app in terms of daily users. It ranks as the 23rd most installed application on facebook. I would expect this app to be rolled into other social networks in the near future as gifting translates well across all social ecosystems.
The smart guys running SGN made a nice acquisition that will help them expose more users to SGN and it’s growing portfolio of casual games (Jetman and many more). I would keep an eye on these guys as they continue to make headway in the casual gaming space.
