I think Twitter users are more loyal than you think. It's not a brand-loyalty, it's a community loyalty, one that's very hard to organize and move cohesively. It makes a lot more sense to stay on Twitter and wait out the downtime than self-impose a multi-month-long downtime on yourself by switching to a new service. Your images are very amusing, especially the Rick Astley one.
