Facebook F8: What Next?
Published by Rodney Rumford July 22nd, 2008 in Facebook.
Facebook opened their platform to developers last year. Big deal… So have many other sites. But no one has had the groundswell of success that facebook has with the developer and user community for adoption. There are over 30,000 apps live on the platform since it’s launch just a few months past it’s 1 year anniversary. It has been a very wild ride unlike anything in recent memory.
I am heading down to the facebook f8 event and will be gathering as much information as possible, shooting some video interviews and reporting back after we have had a day or 2 to digest what goes down at the event and what it means to businesses, developers, brand managers and advertisers.
I will be speaking with facebook employees, top developers, entrepreneurs, marketing professionals and VC’s to get a comprehensive lay of the facebook eco-system; it’s current state and where we think the trends will be happening in the near future. It is my guess that facebook connect will be the most exciting opportunity to rise to the surface more clearly.

Rodney,
I’ll be interested to hear what you have to say about Face Book when you get back.
We use Face Book as one component of the marketing strategy platform that we offer our clients. It works.
Have a great week,
Beckett

Rodney,
Looking forward to seeing you there.

I am reading how this Facebook app can take my information away. I thought apps cannot do that. Scary.
