12seconds.tv is a micro-blogging video site; think of it as twitter for video. Blippr is a micro-review site for movies, book, games and music.

12seconds steps up the stakes in the micro-content game with the announcement of their API and several partners. Blippr is one of the platform launch partners that has integrated 12seconds into their service.

According to 12seconds: “We truly want to be the platform for video status and there’s no better way to do that then to allow other services to integrate 12seconds seamlessly. If you think 12seconds can be the video platform for your service, we’re excited to work with you. So please go play with our initial API and find a new way to extend, advance, change, modify, tweak, enhance, engage or otherwise adapt our service, we’d love it.”

You can access the 12secondsTV API here. According to the guys at 12seconds “Be aware that this is the first version of the API, and we’re struggling hard to keep it in sync with our feature set while simultaneously planning for the future. You can think of it as an alpha API. We have much more coming. While we’ve tried to anticipate how, when and why you might want to utilize 12seconds, we probably definitely haven’t thought of everything. So when the API changes, we’ll let you know so that you can keep in step with our growth and advancements.”

Both services are already integrated with twitter as your blipps and 12seconds videos publish to twitter.

It is also worthy of note that my favorite twitter desktop app Tweetdeck has also integrated with 12seconds. Kudos to both 12seconds.tv and their launch partners blippr & tweetdeck.

No problem. I think the api is a critical & strategic stepping stone to greater brand visibility and use cases for your service.

12seconds.tv is phenomenal. I’ve been using it very literally as a video Twitter, and I’m loving it, so news of the API and integration with TweetDeck are all the more reason to get excited about the service.

Btw, that chick smiling in the TweetDeck image is super cute, wonder who she is? ;)
